POLARITY THERAPY

POLARITY THERAPY as a form of COACHING

Coaching seems to have become the new” buzz word” these days, after “natural, local, grass fed, gluten free” and more. I am for all of them, as long as they are true to their word. The fine print may contain some extras that you may not have bargained for though, such as white sugar, which some consider natural! Local hopefully is not full of pesticides…and I don’t mean to be gloomy – just have learned the hard way and hope to save others some trouble. Labels are to be read – if you want the truth, and it does take some extra time!

Back to coaching. I am of the opinion that everyone needs and benefits from coaching. In fact it has been proven that those who are coached gain by 500%. That’s pretty high, so it would seem like a good investment for yourself and your business, if you have one – and it looks like everyone has one, or wants one, or wants something different and needs help in getting unstuck so as to move on! Mothers, Fathers, CEOs, Teenagers, Couples, You Name It. And we are all coaches – to a degree. Whenever we get together with someone for anything we are generally listening or giving some kind of advice – sometimes helpful, and sometimes not. The intention to help the other is bottom line though – something always comes from that for both people.

Some training is useful, and there are many, from one weekend to one year, which are often not delineated. So be it. Those who take one weekend can have the gift and the heart that perhaps takes someone else more time to cultivate. There is the joy in the learning too – and the advantage of likeminded Community, which we are all seeking desperately at this time from what I hear. There are many reasons to choose what we choose. All experience becomes wisdom….

And now to Polarity Therapy, which is a holistic, spiritually oriented system of health care, not widely known. It came to us from Dr. Randolph Stone, born in Austria in 1890, who integrated his work as a chiropractor, osteopath, naturopath and naprapath with Eastern concepts of energy flow in the Ayurvedic system of India, the yogic path, and Chinese and Egyptian systems of health. He practiced in Chicago for 60 years and earned much respect from conventional medicine.
An avid spiritual seeker, Stone grew up Catholic, became a Lutheran Minister, and after discovering Eastern Mysticism was initiated into Shabad Yoga, the Yoga of Sound. Consequently, sacred sound can also be a part of Polarity Therapy.

Practitioners are trained in body/energy work, communication skills with high levels of integrity, polarity yoga and nutrition, all based on balancing the Five elements of Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. CranioSacral work is at the core, requiring great sensitivity and intuition. Each Element follows a specific pathway in the body and energy system, and can elicit very light touch (even above the body), some movement such as rocking, and also deep work as appropriate.
Dr. Stone looked at us humans as having “wireless anatomy” and a sacred geometry as a blueprint that can be accessed through corrections on all levels – physical/structural, emotional, mental and spiritual. He left us tools for this very comprehensive approach, contained in five books, and passed through teaching to practitioners.

Many practitioners say that Polarity Therapy provides the missing link, enabling them to integrate many aspects of the healing arts. The goal is to become truly One’s Self, and so these tools can be taken in many directions, as guided by the Soul and desires of the practitioner. For example Chiropractors and Osteopaths will perhaps address the structure more, though most will veer toward bringing more subtlety to their previous work. Massage therapists and other bodyworkers will incorporate the new learning into their work, and some may switch to blatantly using much more energy healing, while Psychotherapists may want to bring touch into their practice. Whatever the previous form, expansion and transformation are assured, with allowance for each person’s unique approach.

Nurses often use their background in whatever area they are, or have been in, and bring this knowledge to whatever form they choose post Polarity.
The bottom line is a new awareness and connection to Source and Self and Heart with the intent to help those who show up.

Coaching can be one of these focuses that come naturally for some – the difference being that goals are embedded in the person’s system through the energetic balancing and enhancing of the Five Element energy/bodywork, making results ultra speedy for those who are ready for that. However the practitioner is trained to allow for the client’s pace, or rather the pace of the client’s Soul, which can be different! This is where consistent support is wise as integration of the Soul and Personality happens – sometimes a little scary, as well as exciting.

Corrections to the energy system’s sacred geometry can happen effortlessly, making the life purpose more apparent. Having said that, Dr. Stone considered what he called “Right Thinking” to be of paramount importance, and of course we may all have different ideas about that! If given space we all know what that is. Being witnessed and heard with unconditional love and attention can be the long awaited gateway to action. May it be so…
